Sugaring is a 100% natural (its edible) method of hair removal, free from resins and toxins. Made of just three ingredients—sugar, water and lemon—this ancient method of hair removal is the natural answer to beauty and smooth skin. Though it has only recently been introduced in the West, it has been used in Africa and the Middle East for thousands of years.
How Does Sugaring Work?
Sugar is applied at body temperature, meaning there is no risk of burning. Applied with a gloved hand, the sugar is thrown out after every use leaving no possibility of double dipping or cross contamination.
Sugar is an edible, water-soluble product that is great for sensitive skin. It only adheres to dead skin cells, thus greatly reducing the potential for tearing of the skin and irritation. For this reason, it can be applied over the same area multiple times to remove stray hairs, decreasing the need for post-removal tweezing.
Sugar is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth, and removed in its natural direction of growth, resulting in fewer ingrown hairs and less breakage compared to waxing. This means your skin will feel smooth and soft. It can remove hair at 1/8", or even slightly shorter. That's just 8-10 days of growth. Overtime, as the follicle is continually damaged, hair will stop growing, leading to a permanent reduction in hair growth.
